सार

The rapid digital transformation sweeping across various sectors has profoundly impacted defence education, with military libraries emerging as critical facilitators in this evolution. Traditionally serving as repositories of physical books and classified documents, military libraries are increasingly embracing electronic resources (e-resources) to meet the dynamic educational and operational needs of armed forces personnel. This paper examines the pivotal role e-resources play in modernizing military libraries and supporting defence education. Through an extensive review of secondary data—including academic journals, government reports, and defence agency publications—this study explores how digital libraries enhance accessibility, promote continuous learning, and support strategic research and training within military institutions. E-resources such as online databases, digital journals, multimedia archives, and specialized military repositories offer personnel timely, flexible, and remote access to critical information, thereby overcoming traditional geographic and logistical barriers. Additionally, these digital tools foster collaboration among allied forces by enabling the sharing of knowledge and best practices across borders. Despite these significant benefits, the transition to digital libraries presents several challenges, including cybersecurity risks, infrastructure limitations, and the need to improve digital literacy among military staff. The paper highlights the importance of addressing these issues through strategic investments in technology and personnel training, ensuring secure and efficient access to digital content. Ultimately, the integration of e-resources into military libraries is essential for aligning defence education with contemporary technological demands, enhancing operational readiness, and fostering lifelong learning. This study underscores that successful digital transformation in military education depends not only on technology adoption but also on robust policy frameworks, user engagement, and international cooperation. The findings advocate for sustained efforts to optimize e-resource management, thereby preparing military personnel to effectively navigate the complexities of modern warfare.
