Capital punishment has been a contentious issue globally, sparking debates across ethical, legal, and societal domains. This paper explores the historical evolution of capital punishment, its effectiveness as a deterrent to crime, and the ethical dilemmas it poses. A comparative analysis of legal frameworks across various countries provides insights into divergent approaches to this ultimate penalty. The findings suggest that while some nations continue to support capital punishment for its perceived deterrence, others are moving toward abolition, citing human rights concerns. This study concludes with policy recommendations aimed at balancing justice and humanity.
