HR PRACTICES TO MOTIVATE AND SATISFY FACULTY MEMBERS OF COLLEGES AFFILIATED TO KANNUR UNIVERSITY

The present research studies various factors that determine job satisfaction and motivation among faculty members of affiliate colleges of Kannur University. Based on Maslow’s need hierarchy, every person chooses a job which satisfies his needs. People stay in their current job only if it contributes to satisfaction of the basic need he has now. These needs motivate them to be retained in job. In addition, HR practices followed by institutes should constitute job motivation and job satisfaction for faculties. The study collects data for understanding various HR practices and how much it helps the faculties to motivate and satisfy. It will help to evaluate current HR practices, including professional development programs, compensation, and recognition and rewards systems, to determine their impact on faculty motivation and job satisfaction. And to examine how administrative support, resource availability, and a positive work environment contribute to faculty motivation and overall job satisfaction.
