The study initially examines the depiction of childhood trauma in Indian English Novels and the contemporary portrayal of this phenomenon in the selected novel under study. It draws supporting evidence from a curated selection of trauma narratives. Furthermore, the research delves into a comprehensive analysis of the defence mechanisms of dissociation and silence, emphasizing their significance in coping with traumatic experiences. This analysis is achieved by incorporating relevant excerpts from various novels, effectively illustrating the psychological manifestations of trauma.
