This study examines the levels of work engagement among teachers in the Valley Region of Manipur, focusing on differences by age and gender. A sample of 855 teachers from schools, colleges, and universities participated in a survey assessing engagement through the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES). Results revealed significant age-related differences, with older teachers reporting higher levels of vigour, dedication, and absorption compared to younger teachers. Gender differences were minimal, although male teachers scored significantly higher in vigour. These findings suggest that while both age and gender influence aspects of teacher engagement, targeted interventions may be necessary to support younger teachers and ensure sustained engagement across the workforce. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of how demographic factors impact teacher engagement, providing a basis for strategies aimed at enhancing educational effectiveness.
