Abstract

This paper explores the transformation of female roles in J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series, focusing on the evolution from passive, traditional roles to powerful and dynamic leaders. Through an analysis of characters such as Hermione Granger, Ginny Weasley, Luna Lovegood, and Professor McGonagall, this paper will analyze how these women subvert gender expectations and emerge as influential and rebellious figures challenging the traditional norms. By highlighting their intellectual, emotional, and leadership growth, this paper will illustrate that Rowling’s portrayal of female characters offers a progressive narrative of empowerment and strength, challenging gender norms within the Wizarding World.
