These results could be used to develop specifically formulated satisfying food products and implement nutritional rehabilitation policies based on need for the category that makes up the majority of malnutrition. The National Family Health Survey reports that the population's percentages of stunting, wasting, and underweight are 35.5%, 19.3%, and 32.1%, respectively, whereas in NFHS-4, these rates were 38.4%, 21%, and 35.8%. Lowest stunting is in Sikkim and the highest in Meghalaya. NFHS-5 shows improvement in health condition of under-five year children.
