Abstract

In the modern workplace, women employees' work-life balance is progressively looking to be more harmonious between their personal and professional spheres. In the current world, long work hours—including overtime, long daily or weekly hours, and irregular shifts—have been associated with a greater risk of tiredness, stress, accidents, and many medical disorders. This study intends to investigate the legal viewpoint on work-life balance in contemporary employment and solve the issues concerning working hours and overtime compensation. Using the qualitative approach, in which we examined case legislation and constitutions for work-life balance and gathered data from government sites, published papers, and e-courts, this study The Indian Constitution compelled the social structure to veer from the discriminating ideas towards equality. To force women to live in poverty, they are driven to spend much time in completing domestic and home tasks, which are either not paid or low paid. We draw the conclusion that women participate in most of the unpaid labour in the household and society, so the economic difference among sexes continues. By means of education and employment, women should be urged to participate equally like men to achieve inclusive development in their nation.
