Abstract

This study investigates intrinsic and extrinsic motivational factors influencing participation in sports and physical education among degree college students at Shri Gavi Siddeshwara Arts, Science & Commerce College Koppal. Drawing on survey data from 337 participants, it examines gender-based differences and the impact of college type on student attitudes. Findings reveal the dominant role of health benefits and peer influence as motivators, underscoring the need for improved sports infrastructure and tailored interventions to promote active participation in physical activities.
