Abstract

The present study was conducted to find out the relationship between the Problem solving ability and Meta cognitive skills of secondary school students. This study was conducted on sample of 100 secondary school students with random sampling technique. 100 secondary school students were selected from rural and urban schools of yamunanagar district. Standardized questionnaires were used to collect the data. For problem solving ability, Problem solving ability test developed by L.N. Dubey was used. And for Meta cognitive skills, Meta cognitive scale developed and standardized by Prof. (Dr.) Madhu Gupta and Ms. Suman was applied. The data was analysed with t-test and Pearson’s Product moment correlation test. The results of this investigation were that there was no significant difference between the problem solving ability with regard to the locality of secondary school students, and there was a significant difference between the meta cognitive skills with regard to their locality. And there was a positive and significant relationship between the problem solving ability and meta cognitive skills of secondary school students.
