Abstract

TaslimaNasrin (1962) is a Bangladeshi writer who is a physician, feminist, activist and secular humanist. Her main focus lies on the religion, caste, class, gender equality and man woman relationship. She wrote the novel, Besharam in Bangla in 2017. Shameless is the English translation of Besharam. Taslima had to leave Bangladesh after publishing her novel, Lajja. Since then she has been staying in different countries. When she wrote Shameless she was in Calcutta because it was suitable to her language and for culture for a far extent. For her revolutionary feminism and existence of women in the society, not only in Hindus but also in Muslim societies, she is revolutionary about love, marriage and sex. For her religion is not as important as humanism. That is why she has a constant death threat and many fatwas have been passed against her.
